I realized I needed to enhance the audio quality from my PC. While listening to my free Spotify playlist with classical music, the instruments sounded unclear. A guide suggested setting the sound card sampling rate to 44.1 kHz. Before that, I connected cables from my Focusrite Scarlett II sound card to an Onkyo receiver, which worked well for speakers and headphones but didn’t improve clarity in classical tracks. I adjusted the settings to 44.1 kHz, which improved output through the receiver and into my ViewSonic monitor. Then I switched back to 48 kHz in the soundcard settings, but no sound came out at all. After changing the speakers in the sound settings to FX Sound Speakers (FX Audio Enhancer), the audio returned. However, now every time I restart the computer, the sound disappears and the device changes. I’m seeking advice on resolving this problem.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Every time I start it back up, there is no sound and the selected device changes. So, any thoughts on how to solve this issue?
You've posted this thread in the Windows 10 section. If that wasn't in err and you're indeed on Windows 10, can you pass on a what you see listed as your Audio outputs and Devices for audio? Do so both from Device Manager and Sound Manager.
What version(not edition) of Windows 10 are you working with?
