Sound issue detected near MOBO area.
Recently I noticed a buzzing sound coming from my motherboard, especially when scrolling the mouse. It disappears during gameplay but occurs while using the paper cone trick. I traced it to an area near the CPU. Is this normal or could another part be causing the noise? Can motherboards actually produce such a buzz? MOBO is AsRock B450 Steel Legend if that gives you some insight.
Ensure your motherboard operates quietly. Is the noise limited to scrolling actions? Would you like to share a video or clip of the sound?
I understand the situation. There are many parts near the CPU, which means there could be a precise spot. Have you explored other ways to trigger the sound? Did you switch to a different mouse?
Used a generic mouse model, sound remained. Adjusted polling rate but issue persisted. Upon replay, it appears positioned near the capacitor close to the bottom right bracket on my pump. Played Witcher 3 uncapped to check for GPU coil whine, no improvement. Problem occurs specifically during scrolling.
It's strange, maybe I'll grab a new PC when my returns arrive. Anyway, thanks! Cheers!
