Sound interruptions appear during intense audio events in games
previous experiences include various problems such as audio glitches, crashes, and performance drops across Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Island 2, and Borderlands tiny tinas. In Borderlands the sound cuts out and stutters during intense moments, similar to the audio issues in Hogwarts Legacy when explosions occur or multiple enemies appear. My computer also freezes and restarts abruptly, just like with MSI Kombustor when using the CPU burner. Temperatures are elevated because of the 5800x3d graphics card, though it doesn<|pad|> (86c max under real loads, 89 under synthetic). The cooling system has too many radiators. I've tried updating the BIOS, changing RAM to base model 2133, adjusting undervolt settings, reinstalling audio drivers, testing different headphones or cables, disabling USB devices except audio, clearing CMOS, moving games to the C drive, reseating RAM, checking waterblocks, repasting the CPU (without GPU changes), and running virus scans or removing non-store games.
Adjust the audio settings to 24bit 48kHz and recheck. Monitor GPU temps—did your RAM support XMP or a manual overclock?
XMP GPU settings are similar to maxing out at 65Hz. To adjust your audio, change the volume or settings in your audio application accordingly.
They're definitely kept current via NVIDIA updates. Your fix didn't resolve the problem, but it gradually improved and stopped causing crashes. This comment is left for others to see I didn't plan for this issue and I'm unsure of the cause or solution. Thanks for your feedback 👍
The problem has come back. When opponents approach me in games and make loud sounds, my computer begins to slow down, audio fluctuates, and frames become unstable in sync with the audio loss. Sometimes it restarts power and jumps to the login screen, but it fails to restart properly or shows an error.
Nvidia Experience doesn't refresh Realtek audio drivers. Have you used Driver Booster? Could you share your system details?
