When I begin a game and the computer seems to work more intensely, I’ll notice this occasional click that occurs just a few times over several hours. It feels similar to the sound a lightswitch makes when you switch on your bedroom light—unclear what it means. 3080ti, 12900k, AIO CPU cooler, Asus Z690 motherboard, DDR5 RAM, 1200w power supply

Your power source might be using an energy-saving setting, and switching it off could eliminate the sound. A clicking noise inside a computer is often due to spinning hard drives, so having one present doesn’t rule it out.

It seems the system isn't behaving strangely during the clicking. The power supply unit might be handling it. Consider testing with an AVR or UPS that has more wattage than your PSU. This could help determine if the PSU is struggling to maintain stable power from the wall outlet.
