Hello, I noticed an unusual humming noise coming from inside my PC, likely from the power supply or motherboard since they’re close together. This occurs while playing CSGO. The noise begins and stops suddenly during spawns or deaths. It disappears when I set the FPS to 170. Other games like Songs of Conquest, Dark Souls III, and Witcher 1 didn’t produce this sound. Interestingly, running Cinebench and FurMark together doesn’t trigger the buzzing, even though power usage is high at that moment. I recorded a video capturing the abrupt start and stop of the noise. The recording shows it begins at 00:36. Build details: CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 5600g, RAM – DDR4 16GB 4400 MHz, GPU – Radeon RX 6700 XT, Case – Loque Ghost S1, PSU – Corsair SF600, Storage – 1TB M.2 SSD, OS – Windows 10 Pro, BIOS version L2.62, settings default except an XMP profile for RAM. Likely just the GPU is causing the coil whine, which is a common source of this noise.

Coil whine occurs continuously. It’s the sound produced when the inductor coils shake at an audible frequency. This frequency shifts depending on the power being used, which is why reducing frame rates can help eliminate it.

Thanks for the update. I was concerned about the PSU but this is positive news. The issue with not hearing it during running furmark might be due to excessive power levels.

It seems the issue might relate to resonant frequencies and power distribution on the card. The coils naturally vibrate, and the audible frequency depends on how the power is handled.
