Hey everyone, assistance is needed… After the Windows update, no sound drivers are available. The ones from the official site aren’t working either. I found a driver from a previous version, but I’m unsure where to get it again. Anyone know if there’s another option for this model?

Have you attempted accessing Device Manager and removing the existing driver? Click right-click, uninstall, then mark as delete driver, and restart the system? If that fails, consider using the driver for Z140C-edu at the provided link. The folder associated with that driver is distinct yet similar to the Z140C setup. Execute the associated EXE file.

Not recommending them directly, though you seem to have a Realtek chip installed. You might consider using generic Realtek drivers available on GitHub: Releases · pal1000/Realtek-UAD-generic (github.com). Make sure to check any files you download with AV software or similar tools.

I attempted this but got no results… It doesn’t even allow me to run the executable. Could be a problem beyond the missing driver? Thank you for your reply.

I've also tried this, but I haven't had any success… Your reply is appreciated.

What Windows update or upgrade did you perform? The laptop is quite old—its age raises questions about whether 64-bit drivers were developed for it. Upgrading to a 64-bit version of Windows would have been unusual, but if it was, I wouldn’t want to deal with troubleshooting just to find out.
