Hello, your Asus Essence STX II is restarting during driver installation because of your Gigabyte A520I mainboard. You don’t need to change the PCIe x1 mode to x16 manually—just ensure the card is properly seated and try restarting after a short pause. Have a great weekend!

The instruction doesn't apply when your card operates in a single lane, as it uses just one lane.

The issue might be due to differences in how your PC interacts with the PCIe x1 slot compared to others, even if everything seems fine.

Check if the drivers work together. Does the PCI port connect with other gadgets? Is it meant for the CPU or chipset? If yes, are the board drivers and firmware current?

Switching to a new motherboard since the A520 can't handle APU overclocking. The upcoming AsRock B550M-ITX will be available. Also, the Gigabyte A520I AC is an ITX model, so only the NVME details are relevant.
