You could attempt to boot Ubuntu from a USB stick to check for recognition. This might help confirm or eliminate issues with Windows drivers or other complications.

It doesn't function with Ubuntu either. I tried to bypass the built-in audio somehow. Wow, that's quite the mess. I'm really confused about what's going on. Also, a PCI sound card priced at 75 euros is quite expensive.

They seem quite costly for your needs. I discovered a budget option at this link: https://www.amazon.com/GODSHARK-Internal...ef=sr_1_19 But I’m not familiar with the Euro market.

So from the begining you knew it was dead.So now please tell me,what do you think happened? Which is also odd is that time and date in BIOS changed, moved to 2 hours earlier. There is no infrared light coming out of the optical output, so maybe I shorted out the sound chip via optical cable. Maybe my hands were wet from sweat...who knows what I did, but in my career of having PCs for 28 years this never happened to me.

In your messages, this means completely irrelevant information. It doesn't matter the quantity of items in your space or how long you've been here. Just move past that fluff. Regarding the rest of your query, I'm unsure—seems like something was misunderstood.

The occurrence is common because these elements operate independently. The GPU and soundcard are separate hardware units, so their placement doesn’t affect each other.

It’s happened often enough for me, so I’ve got extra ALC892 codecs saved away. Just because it’s common doesn’t mean I understand the cause—I’m still guessing from the first post.

It's conceivable that the metal backplate of a graphics card could contact internal components through its left edge during installation, causing shorts.
