Hey everyone, just wanted to share that my girlfriend got a new laptop, and it’s working fine with the usual Windows chime. So far everything seems normal, but it even plays a sound when the system is completely off. I thought maybe something was wrong, but I figured it could be a weird notification from the machine. I tried turning it back on during quiet time, which helped confirm it’s actually Windows doing this. Thanks for your help! No need to worry, Peter.

The speed at which you close the laptop can trigger it to enter sleep mode while attempting to shut down. If a program is running during this process, it may prompt you to confirm if you want to turn off the computer; if you don’t respond within 10 seconds, it will halt the shutdown and switch to sleep instead. Notifications will still play if you’re not interrupting. I’d recommend disabling notifications, as I haven’t used them before and never plan to.
