I switched from an Intel setup to an AMD one for a CPU upgrade, keeping my 3060 graphics card which works fine for Photoshop. Now I’m facing constant screen blackouts, flickering, and random crashes. Closing NVIDIA containers helped reduce some issues, but updating drivers made things worse. After uninstalling everything and reinstalling Windows without an ASUS hub, the problems persist. I keep seeing NVDMDK errors and CLSID errors. I’ve looked online for solutions but feel confused—I’m unsure if it’s a Windows or NVIDIA problem. My previous build never had these issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I set up Windows from scratch during assembly, performed a complete cleanup and reinstall, aiming to resolve the problem while maintaining as many installations as possible.

It's an AMD 9700X built on an Asus ProArt x870e motherboard featuring 96GB QVL RAM and a 3060 12GB in the main PCI slot. I believe there’s no hardware compatibility problem or that any installed parts won’t fit. Everything is set up optimally, with all drives, RAM, and other components properly placed.

Begin without a GPU. No need for a NVidia, just one less issue to worry about. Check if your BIOS is current—update it if necessary. Are you using the BIOS stock settings? If not, change them. For now, keep it simple: no more than two RAM sticks. Edited September 28, 2025 by leclod

It seems you're experiencing memory issues. You may want to raise the VSOC to 1.285v and increase the VDDG to 1060.

Bios is current and only has two RAM sticks installed. It runs at stock speed unless you enable Expo for better performance. Previously, setting it to auto caused similar problems with slower speeds. I don’t have time to replace the FPU tonight, but I’ll try again tomorrow to check if crashes improve. I’m confident the GPU works fine—functioned well on my Intel system—and I haven’t experienced issues before. If there’s a driver conflict with NVIDIA, that would be the issue I’d like to resolve. Running three monitors means integrated graphics aren’t sufficient for tasks like Photoshop.

It shouldn't require such adjustments on a high-end motherboard like that, right? I'll check it out, but a 3060 with a VDDG of 1060 is quite powerful. Most guides suggest around 900 for overclocking, though I'm just keeping it stock.

Occasionally. You seem to have a lot of RAM, but I'm not entirely sure.
