I create time-lapses and the editing process is really tough. Next week I’ll have a huge amount to work on and I need my PC to perform better. Timeline scrubbing has a big delay, and previewing with many large frames is slow. videopreview is set to preview quarter, which is my current configuration: i7 5820K @ 4GHz (cooled with H100I), 16GB kit 2x8GB at 2666MHz (Corsair Vengeance), Nvidia GTX 680 (ASUS), Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (scratch disk for editing files), Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (Windows) with three LG 23EA63 monitors, running Windows 8.1 Pro software/workflow: Adobe Lightroom 6 → LRTimelapse 4.3 → Sony Vegas Pro 13 format: raw images → codec H264 @ 4K 30fps MP4 → Sony XAVC 4K MP4. I’m not sure what to adjust on my PC or editing process—any tips would be great?

I've read about the 840/850 EVOS experiencing slowdown issues. You can try testing it using Crystal Mark.

They resolved the issue using firmware and software updates. And yes, I've already completed that.

On an 840 model, high usage typically involves significant GPU, CPU, and RAM consumption while running in Vegas.
