I recently purchased a gaming PC equipped with 2x8GB Corsair RAM, but I only recently realized that my Task Manager displays 8GB. Someone can help me understand why this discrepancy exists. I gently moved the RAM sticks around while trying not to remove them completely, as I didn’t want to risk damaging anything.
To verify if the RAM is defective, completely remove it and reinsert both into their original positions. Confirm in the operating system that the RAM is recognized. If only one slot shows up, it could indicate a faulty RAM or motherboard. Source: 1: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articl...-Gaming-PC
I just removed the correct part and when I tried to boot the PC, my monitor wouldn't turn on. I put it back in and it worked fine. Now I'm going to take out the left one to check if it still functions. Then I'll switch them around to determine if the issue is with the stick or the motherboard. I'll update you shortly.
Ensure the board model name is correct, then consult the manual for placement instructions. Some setups won’t start at all.
Thanks to all of you, I explored several solutions and the final approach was placing the correct RAM stick in the left port while the other in the right port. The PC interpreted it as 16GB. Appreciate everyone who offered advice and support.
