I just bought this computer about a month ago and now I keep losing power to my keyboard, mouse, headset, external drives, and other USB things. My monitor screen also seems to have a tiny glitch where it goes off for a second but then comes back on normally. This happens whether the device is plugged into the built-in ports or the case's USB ports. I've already tried updating the motherboard chipset and the BIOS, and neither fix worked. The computer doesn't reset automatically when this happens. It sometimes happens twice in an hour, other times it goes hours without a problem, and at other times nothing ever breaks. Any advice would be super helpful! Specs: Windows 11 Home version 10.0.22621 Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi CPU: Intel i7-13700K Power Supply: MSI A1000G Main Hard Drive: WD Black SN850X NVMe 2TB Secondary Storage: MSI Spatium M450 M.2 1TB Monitor (AIO): Corsair iCue H150i ELITE Graphics Card: MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Trio RAM: 32 GB T-Force Vulcan 5200 MHz

Welcome to the forums! Could you tell us what version of BIOS you have? Also, please check Device Manager and look for a yellow exclamation mark. Did you run all drivers with "Run as Administrator" when installing them?

Thanks! My latest update is 7D89v16. There are no yellow error signs in Device Manager. I did not right-click and choose Run as Admin, but I am already signed in with my admin account. Does that make a difference?

Could it just be a loose connection? Remove the case cover and wiggle those USB cables in tight so they fit better. Check if there is dirt or dust stuck near where you plug them in, because that could stop them from connecting properly.

I looked at where the cables go and they look fine. But things keep breaking again. It is really the little sticks inside the board that are causing trouble, even though I have no internet problems with my wireless router.

My old computer sometimes goes out of power when talking to the screen. I swapped in a new graphics card, but that didn't fix it either. It was probably my motherboard after all. Usually things work themselves fine though, then one day they stop and my whole PC is unusable. So I got a brand new machine. I've also had trouble with USB ports on every computer for over 12 years. Maybe you need a new motherboard too? Could you take it to a repair shop? A new board might be cheaper than buying the whole thing again.
