Something is Killing my RAM Modules
Something is Killing my RAM Modules
I've tested multiple RAM sticks over the past month. Initially, I thought it was the RAM itself, but after getting an RMA package and confirming stability with memtest, the issues persisted. Now, a month later I'm facing system problems and recurring errors during memory tests. My symptoms seem linked to faulty RAM, like BSODs in games and random crashes. However, when using a functioning pair of sticks with no errors, my PC runs smoothly. The only possible clue is a failing PSU, based on an online discussion about hardware disconnections during power spikes. Outside that, I don't notice typical PSU signs like overheating fans or crashes unrelated to games. My PSU is six years old and a decent model (Corsair RM1000x). Any advice? Attached are my memtest results for reference.
Symptoms began showing up recently? I installed the first module in March 2024 and it failed by October 2025. The second unit arrived early December this year and is also malfunctioning. I’ve been using the same power source since about 2022.
