Something is bottlenecking my system
My configuration: Ryzen 7 2700 (4GHz), RTX 3070 2x16GB at 2933MHz GIGABYTE Aorus x470 ultra gaming. Recently I purchased the RTX 3070 and encountered performance limits in my system. I can't confidently say my CPU is the issue based on the videos. The first clip shows stuttering, sometimes freezes occur, but neither CPU nor GPU appears to be heavily utilized. The second video is Arma 3; I experience less than 30 FPS even with minimal settings, which is unplayable. The third is Cyberpunk 2077—almost everything runs smoothly at full capacity. I attempted to overclock the CPU from 3.1 GHz to 4 GHz but saw no improvement. If the problem lies with the CPU, what recommendations would you give for an AM4 x470? It might be a memory-related issue, though I have no idea how to test it. Please explain what might be causing these issues.
The 2000 series Ryzen struggle to keep up with an RTX 3060 Ti and higher at high resolutions. Performance isn't significantly improved over the earlier models.
GPU and CPU temps stay below 60°C, which is fine. CPU usage ranges from 10–40% based on the game, while GPU usage varies from 40–100% depending on the game. Monitoring details are shown in my video.
The Ryzen 2000 line offered strong instruction performance per cycle, yet its core frequency was limited, making it struggle against the 8th generation Intel chips. Intel managed to outperform it with superior instruction throughput, despite having lower base frequencies. The Ryzen 3000 followed and surpassed the 8th gen, delivering noticeably better IPC even though its clock speeds weren't exceptional. At that time, many 9th generation Intel processors matched or exceeded these improvements.
