I've been facing problems with my motherboard for a while now. On my ROG STRIX X870-F gaming WiFi, the second PCIe slot isn't recognizing anything—whether it's a network card or a GPU. I went through an RMA process with ASUS and have a few questions to clarify if this was really necessary. The website requested my serial number, which I entered, but after that I received this message. Updated: 7/20 When I tried to call ASUS support, I got disconnected after about 15 minutes each time the listed number appears on the site. For humor, I also tried using the online chat and was still greeted with the same message.

Check if your M.2_3 is full. If yes, move SSD to M.2_4 or M.2_1. Refer to the manual at gzhls.at/blob/ldb/b/3/a/e/c9f96dfd88baf6e210717bfbda3d622b5372.pdf

Thank you for your message. The third NVME slot currently has only 1 and 2 available.

You may attempt reinserting the network card and verify its presence in Windows as an unknown device. If not visible, examine the PCIe slot setup within the BIOS by entering BIOS mode and navigating to Advanced > Onboard Devices Configuration (or equivalent). Ensure PCIe_2 is not disabled or configured for bifurcation. Reset the CMOS battery occasionally; this can resolve temporary disabling caused by firmware issues. After resetting, the system will initiate memory training, which might temporarily leave the screen blank for 30 to 90 seconds or more. Allow the PC to operate without interference—do not disrupt it. If no improvement occurs after a few minutes, consider powering off the machine and restarting it. Certain motherboards may require a second boot attempt following a full reset to complete memory training. BIOS version: What version is active? The X870-F is relatively recent; older BIOS versions could contain bugs related to PCIe lane management. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-st...desk_bios/ If none of these steps work, it likely indicates a faulty PCIe slot, making a return to the manufacturer for replacement advisable.

In my opinion, the RMA is fully supported here.
