They all come with a modem/router package and offer Gigabit Ethernet. I’ve even heard good things about Comcast’s offerings. But in my view, having a separate modem and router is better. AT&T’s products are not as good compared to Comcast. In many regions, it’s slower than Comcast. They focus on certain areas for Gigabit while you can find it almost everywhere on the Comcast network.

I’m just offering another choice if it’s offered and he’s open to changing. I’m not implying he needs to switch; what I’m emphasizing is to purchase your own router for improved range, security, speeds, fewer dead zones, extra features, and regular updates.

The OP is complaining about Caps. Last I knew AT&T also had caps. Hell on aDSL I think its lower than the 1TB Comcast gives. So not really a difference, going from one provider with Caps and overages to another with caps and overages.

If you manage to connect to WoW's internet, they don't use caps. They offer many cool features, though I usually take the bundle deal with ATT instead.
