I've been curious about the recent performance fluctuations in Fallout 4 over the past couple of months. Specifically, some areas seemed to experience major drops even when CPU usage wasn't the main issue. After lowering Godrays to "high," I realized I was running at 2715x1527 resolution instead of the standard 1080p. During a short test, just under 4GB of vRAM was being utilized. It was a bit frustrating since I anticipated issues only with my i5 4440, which was causing bottlenecks for the GTX 970 in this game.

I use 1080p for everything since my monitor handles it. I also have a 980ti that supports 1080p, so achieving under 60 FPS is completely normal.

Because using 1440p works without issues on my 290 c, even though I try 1440p.

Due to limitations of my potato A8 6500, it struggles with basic games even at low settings. I usually switch it to 800x600, but it only reaches 60 fps in the league high native resolution preset.

My FPS in Fallout 4 is terrible since my GPU is a potato.

I mainly use Team Fortress 2 for its 1920x1080 setup with 4x supersampling, but I didn’t realize it would drop to around 20p in some situations. I also had SS in Dirt 3 and was puzzled by the 720p medium setting.

I disabled SLI after playing DOOM because it didn’t play well with Sli. Then I started GTA V and just... well, it was weird.

After the driver update, SLI performed poorly. GeForce Experience kept glitching and struggled with DSR settings even when everything ran at full native resolution (1440p). Some games dropped significantly in performance, often falling to around 80fps on 1440p with a borderless window. My cards could handle higher resolutions, but not without noticeable drops in frame rates.
