I'm looking for ways to get Portal 2 running smoothly on my machine. I checked the support forum thread there, but most of the issues seem covered there. The main problem is that the game freezes right after using the shortcut, and it crashes when loading with the .exe file. My system has two Xeons (980Ti), Windows 10, and all games are installed on SSDs. I've tried everything possible and haven't had success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I completed everything. When I attempt it through Steam, it freezes instantly. Steam functions properly. I've removed and readded the software three times.
