The 9900K performance is still comparable to the 5800X, but it might take several years before newer CPUs significantly outperform it. Going for DDR5 could be a safer choice now.

I started the process right away and immediately saw how impressive its performance was versus the 9900K. I plan to run some gaming benchmarks soon.

It's been a slow process to push the price down to around "noticeably" better than my 9900k. I wouldn't settle for anything less than the top models or high-end options. Even basic Intel Core chips seem to be getting recycled to us.

There are still plenty more left in stock. Your processor performs better than the latest consoles, so it should hold up until the end of this generation and maybe beyond. A 9900k definitely delivers solid gaming performance—don’t let anyone undermine that.
