Some wires slow things down but no wireless connection does.
Some wires slow things down but no wireless connection does.
I've been fighting this for about a month, and nothing has fixed it. Every thirty seconds or so, my computer's internet gets stuck with big lags. When I run ping tests to Google, the response time jumps from 20 milliseconds all the way up to over a thousand milliseconds before going back to normal. This only happens when I use an ethernet cable. When I used just wifi on my laptop, there were no spikes. But once I plugged in the ethernet cord, those lags started happening too. I even tried different ports in my house and they all had the same problem. It's only with ethernet that it acts this way, which makes gaming and most other things pointless for me right now.
