We've experienced internet issues for the last few days. The Wi-Fi works but shows no connection, while Ethernet does connect but also reports no signal. Last night my dad called, and Xfinity informed them about the problem. They suggested setting up a new Wi-Fi network using the same router, but we switched to a different name. Everything seemed fine except for Ethernet. Recently, my dad has been acting strangely—doing odd things with the devices. About ten minutes ago I managed to get back online, but now I can’t access Discord, Reddit, or Escape From Tarkov. He claims the firewall settings haven’t changed, but I noticed his screen showed security level at minimum. He just said it hasn’t changed. It’s unclear what he did or why we’re still able to use certain sites. Anyone have any insight into this situation?

I now have Ethernet and everything seems to be working, though I'm not sure what's happening. Probably all fixed, right?

Check if Cloudflare responds; if yes, connectivity is confirmed. You can test with commands like nslookup abc.com to see if it resolves properly. If not, try pinging discord.com or reddit.com. If those fail, run ping your router and note its IP address via ipconfig /all—ensure it matches your public IP. Also verify gateway and DNS servers are correct.
