He’s been using the same PC for a while, and whenever he does something unexpected, the system would suddenly crash. The motherboard is an MSI B550 Gen3, and they’ve updated the BIOS, chipset, and CPU drivers, but the issue persists. They’ve reinstalled Windows multiple times without success. His other machine has an R5 5600X with Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM at 3200MHz. They’re checking for overheating on the CPU, but it’s not happening. The motherboard link is provided.
Check prime95 largeffts to confirm RAM stability. If error disable XMP isn't triggered, assess whether RAM is the problem. If disabling XMP stops crashes immediately, suspect a RAM issue. If crashes persist after disabling XMP, assign blame to the motherboard and consider replacement.
We didn’t check the window logs (we should have) and I’ve heard MSI items can be inconsistent. I’ve also dealt with budget motherboards that didn’t perform well.
