I employ a Linux system (Debian 10 and Lubuntu 19.04) as my primary operating environment and an offline Windows 10 machine for professional tasks. My workstation is connected to Freenas, and I update it every 15 days. I download files on both my daily driver PC and laptop, storing them on NAS and using them for work. Since Linux doesn't display warnings, I'm concerned about scanning files safely without risking data integrity—especially since I don’t have much important data on optical media. Is there a method to check files securely while minimizing the chance of damaging critical information?

I don't have access to the system details. Please confirm the operating system for your workstation.

Consider using Clam AV for protection.

When you check your Linux PC, it shouldn't detect web drives as expected.
