backstory: gamdias talos e3 case with 3 argb fans linked to a hub that supports syncing with the motherboard also features an RGB effect button built into the case. Previously used signal RGB, reinstalled Windows, tried SignalRGB and Gigabyte RGB Fusion, but the RGB would freeze on a single color—usually white. The RGB button remains unresponsive, and synchronization fails consistently. Most of the time the case stays white, though it works perfectly when I manually shut it down and restart. It syncs with sRGB, case color change works, and all effects function normally. However, it often locks onto one color and nothing else works. Random restarts sometimes fix it, but subsequent ones break the issue again. After many attempts, it eventually stabilizes once more, though this seems to be a recurring problem. The system runs Windows 11 with all drivers updated.

I removed the ARGB cable from the case fans on my motherboard. It no longer sticks to white, and about 80% of the time I boot up without RGB or lights. The case's RGB control button doesn't function properly. In about 20% of cases, everything works perfectly and I can sync RGB after reconnecting the ARGB cable. Restarting again breaks it. If the ARGB cable is connected to the motherboard, restarting restores white fans and reduces the chance of fixing RGB. However, if the ARGB header is connected, there are no lights and the chances of fixing ARGB improve.

rgb fusion is available but has some calibration features in the manual settings. The GB part can be tricky to sync RGB with your device, especially since you haven’t connected anything yet. You might want to verify the dynamic lightning settings in Windows, as they could override your custom configurations.

Currently not installed. Dynamic lights turned off. The problem arises when the ARGB connector isn<|pad|>, not connected to my motherboard, suggesting an issue with the case ARGB hub. However, it happens occasionally after startup, and everything functions normally once again with all default RGB effects working.

my top three possibilities are a bad hub, a loose connection, or perhaps an outdated firmware. Sounds like you're looking into the root cause, and I think a P1 model would help (she's cute), but it doesn't have a hub so I'm using less now. Fair seas!

the hub operates differently than expected. it seems the fans are connected in a daisy chain rather than being true hubs. the wiring starts with an argb header from the motherboard linking to the first fan. a second 2-wire cable connects to the case, which houses the power button, rgb control, etc. from there, a sata cable from the psu feeds into a 4-wire cable that powers the first fan. from there, the cables continue in a chain to the second and third fans. the fans run at full speed continuously, and the case includes an rgb control button with pre-set effects. you mentioned trying to sync the case directly to the motherboard by pressing the button, but it appears that method won't work now.

I think out of the four wires connected to the fans, one serves as ground, another carries power for the fans, one provides +5V for the ARGB channel, and the last is used for data to the ARGB channel.

4-pin PWM connector for the fan, then AGRB should have two blank pins, one on the lead pin. An arrow may be present on the lead pin sometimes. AGRB should include a blank pin on pin 4. Be careful not to bend the pins.

I believe the explanation was unclear. The fans aren't PWM, and the second and third fans receive four wires together after being connected in a daisy chain with the first fan.
