Some USB gadgets are malfunctioning randomly.
Hello, I manage a single PC running three distinct configurations: one for everyday use and most gaming sessions, and another tailored for simulations with H.O.T., driving wheel, handbrake, gearshifter separation, etc. The setup includes an unpowered USB 3.0 hub connected via a USB 2.0 port on the motherboard for certain devices that perform best on 2.0. Additionally, two more unpowered USB 3.0 hubs are linked to two USB 3.0 ports on the board. Each hub offers seven USB ports, with individual switches for each device, allowing precise control over powering up or off any gadget at any moment—especially important for games like Battlefield where wheel inputs get mixed up as AA controllers.
I also added a PCIe USB C 3.2 Gen2, 10Gbps port to provide three USB C connections at the rear and more importantly, boost bandwidth for front-mounted VR headsets. This setup came from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09C58N66R).
The essential peripherals I need all connected consistently: two identical keyboards (Logitech G910) and two matching mice (Logitech G502), a Logitech G29 wheel and pedals, an Arduino-based handbrake, a 7-gear 3D-printed gearshifter, an X52 Pro joystick (formerly from Logitech), Turtle Beach Stealth 700 G2, Logitech G560 speakers, a PS5 DualSense cable, a Ugreen USB Bluetooth 5.3 adapter, and occasionally external storage or peripherals like a thumbstick.
Occasionally, I experience issues such as mouse freezing, cursor movement problems, or complete disconnections—especially with the headset (Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2). These can be resolved by rebooting, temporarily switching devices off and on, or performing a full system restart. Sometimes multiple reboots help, or simply switching back and forth between devices to find a stable solution.
I’m seeking guidance on whether another PCIe USB driver might work better, if the hubs need powering, or if connecting the front case with the 3 free USB C 3.2 Gen2 ports could resolve my problems. I’d appreciate any advice to avoid further complications. Thank you ahead of time.
