Hey there. I’m facing a new problem with my setup. It runs on an ASUS ROG Strix X670 E-F with a Ryzen 9 7900X3D, 64 GB CL30, and Windows 11 Pro 23H2. The issue began after an ASUS BIOS update. When I power off the PC for 2 to 8 hours, my USB devices like keyboard and mouse appear in BIOS but disappear once Windows boots. After restarting, they work again. I’ve tried several fixes: resetting CMOS, disabling power-saving BIOS settings, turning off USB suspend in Windows PowerPlan, and adjusting Device Manager power options. It’s frustrating because I have to restart twice daily just to get everything back on track. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You might be dealing with an older BIOS version, a voltage issue, or excessive power draw from USB devices. Have you tried starting with only essential hardware? Or testing with no devices connected and adding them post-boot? Replacing or resetting the power supply could help. Checking USB usage, device management, Event Viewer, or a fresh Windows install on a different drive might also be useful. There seems to be a hardware concern that needs further investigation.

I'll examine reducing the BIOS settings. Overvoltage seems worth checking, though it's possible. Prior to this BIOS upgrade I've never experienced power issues from the PSU (Seasonic PX-1000). I plan to remotely monitor it next time it occurs and review the Event Viewer. That's a good idea. I don't have a Linux installation ready but I can set one up. A fresh clean Windows setup isn't available right now but I'll try it if needed. I'm hoping the problem isn't hardware-related. Appreciate the advice!

What devices are connected via USB? I really enjoy SeaSonic, but I just received a new SS850 Focus Gold straight die after 18 months. Probably not the PSU.

Usually my USB connection setup includes: Keychron Keyboard, Glorious Model D Mouse, Go XLR Mini, an old Razer Orbweaver keypad, webcam, and currently a USB-C dock—though nothing is plugged into it. The Prime PX-1000 will be two years old this December... In my PC-building experience, I've (fortunately) never faced a dead PSU. Wish me luck.

I reduced the ASUS Bios setting and it fixed my problem. The BIOS flashback feature can revert back.
