Searching for titles compatible with the G3258 processor. Those needing four cores should be excluded from the results.

It's possible to push it, though I'm not sure about its stability or performance.

Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity had unofficial patches made by players that let you run on older hardware like the Pentium. These files are not easy to locate since Ubisoft is working hard to remove them, but they still exist somewhere online.

Up to now, the only games I've played are Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. I haven't had time to try more because I upgraded my dual cores.

Avoid titles like Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty Black Ops III, and I’m uncertain about the latest Star Wars releases.

It seems Unity works too. I haven’t tested it yet, but it looks logical. This likely means Syndicate won’t function on a dual-core processor either.

Unity faced similar issues, and there were no reports of problems with Syndicate.

You can technically play almost any game on it. It seems you might need some software to make the games think you're using a quad-core processor. I’m not sure if it works well or not, since I haven’t tried it myself. For instance, Far Cry 4 won’t start without at least a quad-core, even though an i3 has been shown to be sufficient in the past.

I'll check if I can install the E8400 on the test bench this evening and run some tests to verify.

I attempted it on a 3-core APU. The loading screen reads like "Noooooooooo, you ain't playing it, I'm gonna black you out forever!"
