Some Ryzen 7 5800X processors enter sleep mode under certain conditions.
Hey there! I'm facing some challenges with my AMD Ryzen 7 5800X after a fresh Windows setup. Games are running smoothly now, but I still see performance drops even though I haven't changed anything yet. I looked into Ryzen Master to check how the cores behave during games and browsing, and it seems they enter sleep mode when not in use for efficiency. It's confusing since my PC needs that extra power. I've tried manually adjusting the CPU affinity to ensure all cores are used, but it's becoming quite complicated. For example, with Chrome open and multiple tabs running, it's even harder. Anyone else experienced this? Do you have any tips or solutions?
LoL is generally a low-demand game, which explains why it doesn’t require much CPU power. The same applies to web browsing. Your CPU usage is quite limited at 2133mhz, but that shouldn’t affect your experience much. Try downloading and testing Cinebench R20 or R23 to confirm. You should see your CPU functioning correctly without needing all its cores for background tasks.
These were the outcomes I received. I think it’s reasonable considering the other results in the ranking. Probably my RAM is the issue—those old sticks have been running for about five years now. @Skiiwee29
With LoL, I see that adjusting the affinity to utilize all cores instead of just a few boosts my performance. The same applies to HD World of Tanks and FiveM (Modded GTA). Can you find a way to switch between using 3 or all 16 logical processors manually? I attempted this in Ryzen Master but haven’t managed to figure it out.
