I recently enhanced my computer by swapping out the motherboard, which allowed me to install a new CPU and RAM sticks compatible with AM5. The current configuration includes a B650 Steel Legend Wifi, a Ryzen 5 7600x processor, and four 16GB DDR5 modules at 6000mhz. During the installation, I encountered some issues moving the old drives, especially with the boot drive, though I’ve since resolved those. I overlooked the fact that this motherboard only supports two sticks of the exact RAM type listed in its QVL—this was my error. When attempting to install two sticks in A2 and B2, the system fails to boot, possibly due to a memory training issue on the board. The B1 and B2 slots are working correctly and start up quickly. I’ve heard that BIOS settings might interfere with other RAM modules or that a faulty memory controller could be the problem. Any advice would be appreciated. The GPU is currently running an RTX 4060.
Have you tested a single stick in A2 to check its functionality? This could help determine if there’s an issue with the memory channel or not. Regardless, updating the BIOS might resolve the problem. Some Corsair products are selective about BIOS support, so more details would be helpful. Full model numbers would be ideal.
Sorry for the confusion. If models had varying compatibility, I would have mentioned the model numbers in the first post. All the RAM sticks are identical: CMK32GX5M2E6000C36. I suspect I've already tested one stick on A2, as well as A1 and A2. It seems the issue isn't with the RAM. While troubleshooting the boot drive problem, I updated my BIOS to the latest version from ASRock (version 3.25).
