Just installed a new PC for my wife, but we're struggling to get it running. I checked the RAM settings: on my machine both sticks worked fine individually and together. Her system only accepted stick A in slot A2; no issues with stick B in any slot or paired with another. Both are Ryzen 7600 CPUs using Gigabyte mobos. Recent changes: updated BIOS to reflect stick A only, no further changes to stick B. Swapped RAM to a matching kit (F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR). It finished memory training quickly and booted immediately. However, her PC tends to power itself back on after shutdown attempts—either from Windows or by pressing the power button. I'm confused because it didn't do this when she borrowed a RAM stick while I was returning one to Newegg. Updated June 5, 2024 by svgPhoenix

These are the latest models. Have you experimented with different RAM configurations before?

Remove the CPU and inspect the socket for any cracks or bent pins. Ensure the CPU is correctly placed before proceeding. Inadequate RAM channels might result from poor seating. Also, examine the RAM slots for any signs of damage.

I've updated the OP. Could the issue still be with the RAM she's using? Could it be the PSU or mobo even though there were zero issues when she was borrowing my RAM? of note: we are both using G.Skill Trident Z Neo 6000MHz, but hers has RGB and mine does not. I can post full PCPartpicker lists for both systems if that would help. @Tegneren there is no damage to the CPU socket or to the RAM slots. @Blasty Blosty updated the OP but hers is a new build mine is over a year old. her system works fine with my RAM Edited June 5, 2024 by svgPhoenix forgot to reply to blasty

Probably just unlucky with bad RAM; some sets fail completely or last only days or weeks. Send it back and receive a replacement.

Probability of another injury is minimal yet not out of reach, laughs
