I could possibly purchase it beforehand and first check the specifications. They mention support for Wireless and Wired Xbox 360, as well as a wired Xbox One. I also reviewed the FAQ on Steam, but there’s no mention of Wireless Xbox One controller support. Should I be concerned? The device uses BT 4.0, yet it doesn’t list Wireless Xbox One compatibility. Does it offer an audio output for connecting a headset, such as a 3.5mm jack? What function does the USB port serve? Can I plug in a USB headset or a wireless one with a USB interface? A wireless Bluetooth headset is also an option. How does the latency affect gameplay? Am I able to play competitively, or should I stick to single-player mode? Besides games, can I stream movies, videos, photos, and music? Would it need to go through Steam? I already have Plex set up at home, which works well. I’ve noticed many negative reviews on the Steam Link page. Should I worry excessively? Someone has shared experiences with serious issues that disrupt gameplay. If not, perhaps I need to explore ways to connect a longer HDMI cable from my PC downstairs and figure out using a microphone as well (though my TV has audio out for speakers and headphones but not mic). A microphone isn’t essential since I might just play single-player or use my laptop with Discord. I doubt my wireless headset can reach that distance (I own a Logitech H600).

For your Xbox controller you'll need a USB dongle. It lacks an audio out, but you can use headphones connected to the device while streaming. It handles up to 60 frames at 1080p, though performance is typically slightly lower. You can adjust settings to prioritize streaming from your desktop instead of going straight to Steam. Playing movies and music works well. I only faced problems with F1 2016 in full screen mode—switching to windowed mode fixes it, but it's not ideal. Streaming on a large TV downstairs is enjoyable, so I'm not too disappointed. For a 20M cable setup upstairs, it might work, but connecting your mouse, keyboard, and controller isn't clear. Hope this helps with your choice.

I really like Xbox 1 but the controller problems are annoying. I’m thinking of using it just for couch gaming on Xbox One and maybe connecting via HDMI if possible. A dongle would add extra cost. Connecting it to a PC is fine without one, though it’s better than other consoles. It functions okay with some minor issues. I might need to attach headphones or a headset to the PC. If I plug it into my PC, does that work? Is there an option to get audio from the PC and stream video to the TV? Also, does the streaming link come with a Steam controller or do I have to buy one separately?

unless it's a bundle, you receive just the link.

Yes, the controller functions with PC. It does not require a Steam link for operation.

They are available individually. Your computer displays the identical picture during playback, yet it silences your system automatically. You can turn it back on by muting it through your usual settings.

It includes a mirror feature that fully displays content on the screen. At 33 CAD on Amazon, it stands out compared to the Chromecase at 35 CAD, even with some negative feedback on Steam.

I've learned that pressing Alt+Tab to another app and then using F1 works for me now. I'm not sure how it looks on my device yet.
