I secured a solid offer on the 12700 (non-K) at a price below the 12600K. I felt confident purchasing it because of Intel’s built-in graphics, which aligns with my needs. While I understand AM4 CPUs include iGPUs, I prefer avoiding premium DDR5 pricing and first-generation hardware. Building the PC now makes sense since I’ve been delaying for about three and a half years.
I’m looking for a reliable board right away, as I rarely upgrade components. Key requirements are: manufacturer either MSI or ASUS (they offer top-tier support), ATX form factor, DDR4 support, Intel WiFi 6 and LAN, solid power delivery, quality VRMs, adequate heatsinks, PCIe 5 support, and at least three M.2 slots with heatsinks—ideally including a BIOS flashback.
I’m open to a budget range and need a good RAM package. My target is 32GB total, ideally split between two 16GB modules for productivity workloads. I’m unsure about the exact timings or frequency, but I don’t require Samsung B-Die unless it’s cheap.
Regarding the Thermal Grizzly Contact Frame, I’ve heard mixed feedback. It could help with CPU cooling thanks to its design, potentially lowering temps by up to 10°C according to some users. However, I’m concerned about long-term effects—will it impact CPU performance or socket integrity over seven years? DDR4 is nearing its end of life. While DDR5 offers better performance, DDR4 wasn’t always inexpensive when it first launched. Upgrading to the 13th generation with a 20% cost increase is an option if you stick with DDR4. Investigate thoroughly. If you choose DDR4, 3600mhz B-Die boards are recommended for smoother operation. Most aftermarket and even pre-built systems support overclocking. This doesn’t mean you must use them. Regarding the CPU socket, just purchase one and there should be no issues. Over time, boards can warp due to heat, a problem Intel has dealt with before. It’s interesting how this issue is being treated now. I’ll gather more ideas from others before finalizing my hardware list.
You reside in an area where high-end motherboards with solid specifications and multiple M.2 bays remain costly. An EVGA board could offer better value compared to what you currently have, whether you're upgrading or not.
Poland. It seems EVGA EU isn't having any sales on both platforms, making them too expensive even for overpriced Z690 boards. If I were in the US, I'd definitely choose the Z690 Classified. Perhaps some stores in Germany offer EVGA boards at better prices.

The Z690 and H670 tomahawk look almost the same except the Z690 includes an optical audio output at the rear, which isn’t visible. The extra $25 seems unnecessary unless you plan to experiment with overclocking later.

It looks like a smarter choice for a workstation. Once that's done I'll move on to getting a case and a power supply.
