I own a 750Ti and began Tomb Raider but only reach 20-35 FPS on high settings, so I quit. I expect to finish it once I upgrade. Do others play the game even when they can run it at lower settings?

I’m unsure about future updates or my continued interest in the game.

Previously, I used 768p with medium to low settings on a GTX 260. Running titles like Witcher 3 or GTA V wouldn’t have been possible, making it a timely upgrade. I generally plan to replace my hardware after about three to four years of use.

I don’t play Skyrim on high settings; I stick to medium with a shaky 30 frames per second, but it’s still fun.

Hardware shouldn't restrict your ability to play whatever you want right now. If the game is enjoyable, you should be able to savor it no matter the settings or frame rate.

That's quite the odd perspective. It's like buying a car and expecting it to perform like a Ferrari, only to realize you won't drive it anymore until you upgrade to a true luxury model.
