Some minor hiccups when using the latest high-end PCs
Thanks, will probably update to dual-channel as soon as possible, but as i said, don't think thats the reason of the stuttering.
I can post some gameplays, but i've never recorded and i don't have that much experience on it. Any tips on programs just to record gameplay?
Edit: Can you see the little stutter on 4:48 left side of the screen in the video you sent me? thats exacly what happens to me, more frequently on PUBG than other games (on RE 2 remake for example, i rarely ever encounter one, with say, 1 stutter for a minute), but for PUBG would be like 1 stutter each 5 seconds.
I notice in the video that the left side (single channel) tends to stutter a little bit more, but that i could be wrong, i will try to update it to see if helps or fixes it.
It doesn't clarify the reasoning behind choosing HEDT, as a 7700K mainstream system would have been more affordable. A simple task manager would suffice after checking for CPU or GPU overloads. Single-channel usage significantly reduces memory bandwidth, impacting performance in certain games but not others. Shadowplay can be used for recording.
i encountered a problem with my 1070 using DDU, switched to safe mode, removed the drivers, then returned to normal desktop and reinstalled them, which resolved the stuttering.
In my country, this CPU cost 1050 R$ (note: updated to 1700 R$, it was a good deal), the i7-7700k wasn't just out of stock but priced at 1764 R$. I was looking for a motherboard that could handle any upcoming 2066 CPU updates. Regarding gameplay, I believe it won't be necessary since the stuttering issue is exactly the same as the one mentioned in the video Monarch shared, around 4:48 on the left side. I can estimate an average frequency of this happening, similar to what I described in the edit (RE 2 occurs about one stutter for a minute) and PUBG around 1 stutter lasting 5 to 10 seconds. I'll still try to record and share if it doesn't cause too much trouble.
Yes, I noticed the stutter clearly. The frame time jumped to 50 ms at that moment, which is quite concerning, especially since it occurred with just one module of RAM. RE2 runs on a linear architecture, whereas open world titles like GTA V demand more CPU power and rely heavily on RAM speed. This explains why slower RAM with reduced bandwidth can lead to performance drops and frame time increases. Be aware that stuttering might also stem from software limitations within the game's code. Even with a solid PC and recent hardware, I still experience frame time spikes in games such as AC Odyssey and The Witcher 3. These are noticeable but not extreme. The main issue here is a significant bottleneck that's lowering performance by up to 30%. Right now, the biggest problem is a major system bottleneck affecting your experience.
