Some games seem fluid even at low FPS because their optimization and rendering techniques compensate for reduced frame rates. In titles like Metro 2033, advanced algorithms and efficient asset management help maintain performance, making the experience feel smoother than it would with higher FPS.

It varies with the game's speed. I often feel a lot of stuttering in Metro 2033 during certain moments. RTS titles tend to run smoothly at lower resolutions. Shooters or FPS games such as BF and COD work best when played on a higher frame rate.

Frame pacing plays a role too, depending on the game. Shooter titles often feel smoother when moving quickly, usually needing 40–50 fps or higher, while other games might look fine at 40 fps.
