Hi there! I received a strange problem with my friend's new computer. While playing League of Legends and 7 Days or Die, it would suddenly freeze. Everything worked except the LAN indicator, and no BSOD appeared—just a black screen. The only way to get it running again was to change the PSU/pull and plug in a different power adapter. Temperatures were normal, drivers were up to date, and the BIOS was latest. He even thought the sound card and Windows 11 might be the issue, but that didn’t work when he downgraded to Windows 10. Here are his specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 3.9GHz, 6 cores, 12 threads, 7 GPU cores, B550M DS3H motherboard, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) at 3600Mhz, MasterBOX MB600L power supply, and a Lenovo L24I-30 monitor. He’s using integrated graphics. This is odd because his other games—Monster Hunter World, Naraka, Arma Reforger, Arma 3, Chivalry 2—require much more processing power without such issues. The viewer count is low, making it hard to diagnose what went wrong. Two of my friends mentioned using Adrenalin AMD software to undervolt the system, but crashes still occur. Any suggestions could help?
Ryzen and Corsair appear to have some inconsistency recently. It's unclear why, but there seems to be a recurring trend with specific models from either brand. Many discussions mention this pairing lately. Typically, I suggest Crucial Ballistix or Samsung B-die.
Hey, I see what you mean about RAM. Everyone here uses Corsair RAM because it's more accessible than other brands, especially in Indonesia. Are all these discussions in the forum the same? I asked my friend about it, but he tried it and the problems keep happening.
Searching for "Ryzen Corsair RAM crash" reveals several discussions. You'll notice posts from yourself and others before reaching the main content. It appears some users have reported issues with this combination, though I'm not criticizing Corsair RAM itself. There seems to be a trend suggesting certain Ryzen models may experience instability when paired with Corsair RAM. Updated July 10, 2022 by An0maly_76 with additional details.
