Some games cause FPS drops in specific situations.
I shared a post on Reddit a while back, but it didn’t really gain much attention. So I wondered if anyone has suggestions. I notice frequent FPS drops leading to visual stutters in certain games. It’s not impossible to play, but it’s quite bothersome. The games that bother me most are Rocket League (see attached performance chart), Minecraft (even with mods), and Palworld. I’ve tried everything possible—checking my task manager and HWinfo, CPU and GPU running normally without strange spikes matching the graph. In short, it feels like a smooth ride until one frame stalls for about half a second before returning. My setup includes a 13700k processor, RTX 4080, and 64GB DDR5 RAM at 5600MHz. I’ve tested various fixes: fresh drivers via DDU, different GPU driver versions, Windows repair install, memory test, removing USB devices, disabling overlays, closing background apps, moving the install folder to another SSD, and even switching to administrator mode with full-screen off. I also replaced my RAM (same size, higher frequency) and ran a previous GPU model. It still happens sometimes, possibly due to card limits. I’m open to any ideas you might have. Thanks for your help!
I don't have access to your system's current settings. Could you clarify which monitor you're referring to?
My monitor is the ROG XG27AQM at 240Hz, while my secondary is the Acer XFA240 at 1080p with 60Hz. G-Sync is turned off because it didn’t feel right and affects my Shadowplay sessions.
