Some games are still playing in 32-bit mode.
Typically, most titles run in 32-bit mode and only a handful fully utilize 64-bit capabilities with four cores. The Frostbite engine supports the current Battlefield series in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. To verify a game's compatibility, search its files for a 64-bit build. For example, Kerbal Space Program in my Steam files contains two executables—a 32-bit version and a ksp_64 64-bit install. While many games aren't strictly constrained by 32-bit settings, excessive mods can lead to crashes due to the ~4GB RAM cap.
