Hi everyone, I'm facing some challenges with my Wi-Fi network that impact laptops, phones, and other wireless gadgets. When these devices power down or disconnect, two patterns appear: 1) they link back to the router but can't access the internet (mostly affects laptops). 2) they fail to connect at all (mainly with new devices, often every time; sometimes even older ones). Despite these problems, my wired and online devices still function normally. Once the modem restarts, I need a short period to reconnect everything—otherwise I have to restart the modem repeatedly. Neither the Cisco DPC3008 nor my Linksys E2500V4 router seems to fix these issues, even after power cycling them. I've also experimented with an older Netgear router and still encounter the same issues. There might be a cause or workaround I'm missing. Since I live in an apartment with some network congestion, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd prefer to stop repeatedly resetting the modem each morning.

It appears the problem is with the modem. Have you contacted your ISP about it?
