AMD has made notable improvements to their 5000 series CPUs. Significant boosts in single-core speed and an overall enhanced gaming experience compared to previous generations. However, I find it hard to justify the cost (assuming you can buy it at MSRP). The R5 5600X is priced at $300. An i7 10700 offers better value with two additional cores. I recently purchased an i7 10700F for $230 and a 10700K for $285. Improved performance paired with lower prices due to more cores. Why do people pay above the recommended price for the 5600X?

It actually performs better in games compared to any Intel CPU. However, each person must choose whether they prefer 8 cores with the 10700K or a different configuration. Core count isn't very significant for gaming. What matters most is the core performance.

The i7 10700 also runs slower, cannot be overclocked, and lacks hyperthreading.

They've been heavily promoted for too long. While Intel can't match their price cuts, the competition is fierce. The 11th gen might give them a brief edge until Ryzen 6000 hits with a 25% boost in IPC!
