Some devices utilize the router's RAM for temporary tasks or background processes. Your setup suggests the PC might be running applications or services that consume memory, while the switch handles network traffic. Monitor usage to identify specific applications.

If you're asking about the RAM usage of your router, it might not be easily changed or soldered onto the board. This can happen for various reasons—please let me know if you'd like to understand what might be causing it. Thanks for the update, Eighjan.

The system running the web interface, along with the operating system and possibly caching, typically operates smoothly. RAM usage for these components is usually stable and predictable because the router is built to handle consistent demands, using just enough memory to function properly. Adding more RAM doesn’t necessarily improve performance if the hardware isn’t designed to utilize it effectively.

The program within the router relies on RAM to store information about which devices connect via Ethernet cables and which use wireless connections. It manages data flow between ports and wireless interfaces, handles encryption and decryption of data packets.
