Some concerns about BIOS and VRM performance.
I own an MSI A320M Pro-VH Plus (MS-7B07) with BIOS 7B07v3A and a Ryzen 5 1600AF. I’m interested in purchasing the 5600 CPU because it offers a great price locally. Given that the BIOS for the Ryzen 5 5600 is still in beta and the VRM is not fully mature, would you consider this a wise move?
Yeah, a fresh board can be a good move. The current one is fairly average, and based on what I've noticed with MSI's early AM4 BIOSes (which had limited chip space and removed features to fit modern AMD CPUs), I’d likely prefer a newer board if I were upgrading to Ryzen 5000. Also, look into Intel’s options—like the 12400F, it offers comparable performance and is often a bit cheaper, which could save you around $20.
