Hello everyone. I’d like to discuss the challenges of staying balanced in the Dark Zone at level 8. It’s really hard to be a Rouge there. There’s no real sense to play the game for a few reasons: a) Loots don’t appear immediately after you collect them—this was the only time I managed to get any real rewards. b) Most players avoid being Rogues; they just engage in quick fights until someone takes the risk. But they won’t, since the Dark Zone reacts instantly. Once you become a Rogue, everyone rushes over to you. It’s frustrating because if you accidentally shoot someone while chasing Rogues, you’re likely to die too. This should be adjusted by highlighting only those with the highest bounty levels on the map, similar to how the first level is handled. - Marking on the map. If you’re a Rogue, you can’t defend yourself—it would raise the bounty—and you can’t escape, since your position is heavily advertised. c) Weapons and gameplay. In Lv8, there’s little variety. Everyone uses the same superior weapon from the Safe House. After pickups don’t respawn, it becomes monotonous. It’d be better if Rogues made sense, but usually it’s just a bunch of people rushing to the same exit point, and attacking one triggers a rush on everyone. It’s pointless because there’s no real risk involved. d) Overconfidence. There’s no real consequence for being a Rogue—unless you’re trying to steal loot before escaping. But then what’s the point of it? Unless you focus on point A, nobody follows with proper loot. e) Revenge. Being a Rogue means you get killed by others or return to normal quickly. No one values friendship anymore—it feels like a deathmatch scenario where no one starts it themselves. f) Hacking. It’s already happening. I saw it yesterday: when you get a bounty, you’re constantly targeted with small shots (like a pistol) until you die. We tried it with friends in places where it was impossible to avoid. (I think I found the video—I’ll upload it later.) g) Map size. - If the map is much larger than this demo, it will be very frustrating. There are too many players in this small Dark Zone area. You can’t hide from bounties easily—there’s an 80% chance someone will be nearby at any time. Plus, the blips on your head every 15 seconds make it even harder. I think that’s why I’m thinking about it now. What are your thoughts? What concerns you most?

I mean this is only an early beta so of course there will be issues with the game... Not saying they will fix them but there is still hope for the game.

I'm feeling a bit bored already, unless I find some friends to enjoy it with.

Yes, the whole rogue idea is a bit unbalanced. As soon as you go rogue, everyone wants to kill you because it gives plenty DZ credits, DZ points and possibly even loot that the Rogue dropped (DZ keys, etc.). Also, if someone trolls people with the shotty and you want to revenge kill him, it makes you rogue too, making people kill you instead. Even if you didn't want to go rogue by shooting someone who runs in front of your crosshair, you get wrecked immediately. The community manager said they're still working on improving the rogue system, but I hope it's fixed by release. Everything else in this game is really great, even the idea of rogue agents is brilliant, the execution however is not there yet.

I tend to have more issues with how the games run on my system. The main problem is frequent crashes when using GTX 7xx cards. Performance varies a lot depending on settings—low, medium, high, or ultra. On ultra at 1080p with gameworks enabled, I get around 19-27 fps, which is fine for me. But switching to low causes 30-37 fps on 1080p. A noticeable jump from low to ultra gives about 10 fps, which seems unusual. The only way to hit 55-60 fps is lowering the game settings to 1600x900 and using the ultra preset. Before you mention anything about the 760, it handles most AAA titles at 1080p60 in medium/high settings, but this one doesn’t perform much better than games like Witcher 3.

Bullet sponge is the main reason I give up on this game. Also, NPCs in the dark zone can pop up right above you. I've been killed many times because of being hit in the head with a bat. There are a lot of rogue groups around lately, some even setting up in hard-to-reach spots. It feels like pure PvP competition here.

I completely understand what you said. I've been eager for this game for some time, and I might skip it if the rogue system isn't working properly. Even single-player feels a bit dull, so I'm hoping Escape from Tarkov won't let me down.

likes the part a lot. it really resonates. after trying the beta, I’m convinced. my initial excitement faded because of the intense challenges. but your observations are spot on. accidents happen quickly, and the map seems to push you hard right away. you can’t even stay safe while fleeing, since that just resets your counter. yet hiding is nearly impossible. i think this is just a beta phase—people usually have other things to do when the game launches. in beta, everyone was stuck on level 7 or 8 and just kept going to the extraction points. i hope more players will spread out and treat the game more like an RPG than a tournament where everyone’s always showing up red.

I wasn't expecting much from The Division. It seems Ubisoft hasn't created a great single-player experience that would keep me engaged for long. I'd only enjoy it with friends, but most people I know won't have it, and playing it alone doesn't seem worthwhile at all.
