I just came across a report stating there are
"
11 Known Apps that can Cause Windows Update to Fail"
".
I haven’t managed to install a Feature Update of Win11 since May 2021.
This is the first time I’ve learned that certain apps might lead to failed updates.
I don’t own any of the listed applications, but I do have "EaseUS's"
Backup software installed (their "Disk Copy" appears on the list). I’m wondering if this could be the reason all my updates have stopped working? (grumble.)
Has anyone else heard about this?
If
this is the cause of my long update struggles, I’ll be really frustrated.

Hey there,
Take a look at this link and test the solutions:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...em...6e85d4094e
You can also use the DISM tool here:
https://windowsreport.com/corrupted-syst...indows-10/
Tell us how it goes.

Not a pre-release. This machine was upgraded from Win10, allowing the update history to go back further than its pre-Win11 days.
I executed the SFC (which detected issues), then tried DISM (which failed), restarted, and am attempting another update.
I've exceeded the previous maximum of 9%, so hoping for a positive result.
😉

All efforts to reinstall Windows without losing my files or settings were unsuccessful. I repeatedly encountered the "System Compatibility Checker" refusing to proceed, citing system requirements not being met. Even using a USB installer that supposedly bypassed the check, it continued to verify my hardware—Ryzen 5800X and X570-MoBo—and kept failing. Last year’s update attempts stalled around 9%, with one reaching 27% before giving up, now at 73%. Hope you're lucky.

A similar system update requires reliable data backup for your personal information.

The "nuclear option" must remain accessible at all times, even as a last option. Occasionally, it's more efficient to completely reset and start fresh rather than invest endless time in identifying and addressing issues within the system to achieve your desired outcome.

Back in the day, I worked with my spouse's system.
Upgrading directly from Windows 8.1 to 10 didn't receive consistent updates.
Clearing and reinstalling everything resolved the issue.
