It varies by game. Each title gets customized differently. Sometimes you install the mods before starting, other times you replace the original files. Of course, most multiplayer games can't be modified. You can check nexusmods.com for options and see which games support changes. The advantage of modding is it lets you tailor a game to your preferences instead of what the developers intended. The only downside is sometimes you need to reinstall the game if something goes wrong, but that's rare. In my experience, modding offers the most flexibility compared to consoles.

The RTX 2060 remains a solid choice for 1440p gaming. You shouldn't face issues when playing the newest AAA games at ultra resolution, and you should be able to achieve around 60 frames per second.

Your 144 Hz setup delivers 1440p resolution, which is great. Don’t worry, it’s usually just a matter of hardware limits—your system should handle it well. Let me know if you need more tips!

In that scenario, your upcoming upgrade might be the 2060, allowing you to maximize the 144hz while maintaining high graphical performance. However, don't rush into upgrading—it's still a solid choice.

I was mainly worried about how many modifications come from hobbyists, yet it seems there could be hidden motives behind them.

I don’t understand the exact meaning of "nefarious ends." Are you referring to cheats or hacks? I’m talking about modifying singleplayer games—adding new items, quests, graphics upgrades, etc.—without gaining an advantage over other players.

Well, it's unclear who is responsible for creating the mods...right? Modding isn't typically something hackers would use to install software on a computer. Apologies for any confusion with the beginner questions.
