Your SSD isn't appearing as a bootable drive even though the system recognizes it. After rebooting and updating the BIOS, it still doesn’t boot. This is unusual for a new computer. Check connections, power settings, and ensure the drive is properly seated. If issues persist, consult a professional technician. Updated January 6, 2024 by CoinCord11

Verify if the csm setting is disabled in BIOS. Resetting BIOS will restore defaults, which might have turned csm back on and stopped marking your drive as bootable.

Hi @CoinCord11 The Samsung SSD 970 EVO plus 1TB (MZ-V7S1T0BW) is listed on the Qualified Vendors List, which means it should be compatible with your B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 motherboard. Could you confirm if you've connected the M.2 to the M2A_CPU slot? Also, consider trying the drive in another computer and initializing it there.

Reboot the system and ensure it boots from the M2B slot. If supported, the OS should recognize the slot. You might need to insert the card in the M2B and let it boot using the southbridge lanes instead of CPU lanes. After formatting, check if the M2A works properly.

Verified it’s turned off and wasn’t flagged as bootable. Notably, turning on CSM and restarting displays the M.2 as a bootable device. I’ve disabled it temporarily and restarted, but now it isn’t recognized as bootable.

Instead of relying on GPT, ensure an EFI boot partition exists. Start from the drive with CSM activated. Execute the reboot command for mbr2gpt and turn off CSM afterward.
