I own a Ryzen 5 2600 / MSI X470 Gaming Pro / GeForce GTX 1070 ti Duke / G. Skill Trident 3200Mhz (2x8 GB) 16GB RAM.
I have the spire wraith stock cooler and 4 x HD 120 fans.
Last night I assembled my desktop and started everything up, including installing Windows; my main concern is adjusting RAM frequencies in BIOS. With 3200Mhz RAM and a likely low preset setting (and limited cooling), I want to maximize performance without overloading the CPU. Should I enable XMP or set a manual frequency around 2800Mhz? I’m new to this and appreciate any advice. Thank you.

You can enter the details from the labeled part of the RAM sticks directly into BIOS yourself. You might also turn on XMP, though for Ryzen systems D.O.C.P remains uncertain. I favor manual entry. Do you have a link to your RAM setup? Before boosting the RAM speed, confirm your motherboard's BIOS is current.

your chips support 3200 mhz at XMP, simply enable the XMP profile and it should work.

Hey there, congrats on the new build! Both of the answers you mentioned work well. I've never faced any problems with either, so if ease of use is your priority, go with XMP. If you run into issues, just switch to default and do it manually. Should be fine with XMP. Hope this helps and enjoy getting that guy gaming!
