Solving TUF B450 Memory Overclock Failing SOS
Hello,
I am new to owning or assembling an AMD system. A year ago I upgraded from an Intel processor to a Ryzen 7 2700X after a suggestion. Recently, I discovered that my machine has been struggling for a year at 2133Mhz and when attempting to restart via DOCP it failed to boot and returned me to the BIOS menu.
At that time, my BIOS version was 0604.
Since then I upgraded to a 2008 release in an effort to address these problems, but they repeated themselves instead of being resolved. I also attempted to adjust the voltage manually without success. During the build process, a friend who had prior experience helped me, though we lost contact and I’ve since relocated.
Details of my setup:
- Ryzen 7 2700X
- ASUS TUF B450-Plus Gaming Motherboard
- G.Skill TridentZ RGB Series 16GB 288-Pin DDR4 3000Mhz
- Samsung 970 EVO 500GB
- EVGA GTX980Ti
- EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 650W 80PLUS Gold Power Supply
- RAM installed in slots A2 and B2
Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I’m relatively new to AMD and hope to learn what steps to take for a build I’m planning for my wife in July.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

What are the timing details for the RAM? If it's a CAS latency of 15, you should verify that the command rate is configured at 1T and the BIOS has gear down mode turned off.
