I have a Dell Optiplex 760 with a poor BIOS, limited options, and some parts won’t work. I’m unsure if there’s a hidden setting or a method to modify the BIOS for overclocking, and I want to know more about the BIOS modification process.

The overclock for those is the BSEL tape mod from 266 to 333 fsb on the E7500 2 core CPU. This gets about 3.67Ghz
This was used on the Q6600 to 3GHz back in the day, but the Q9650 runs about 10% better so isn't used for that any more.

You might get lucky with an E7600 but usually there isn't enough CPU Volatge for the 3.83GHz overclock.
If you have the Mini Tower case the Zotac GTX1050 Mini drops right in. It's just about the only GPU that fits.
You could use the Zotac GTX1050TI Mini 4GB also. But the 8GB DDR2 system will choke occasionally on a few benchmarks.
A D9729 cooler, or T9303 will easily cool that setup. Get whichever one matches the holes in you...

I worked on Dell computers. I haven't come across anything that lets you boost the system or alter the BIOS. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone since most parts are very exclusive and any modifications could damage the device.

I won’t ruin the board since I can reload the NAND BIOS data. Just need someone to modify the BIOS software; it seems like this section hasn’t seen much activity. Someone who’s an overclocker came up with this idea—since I’ve dealt with Dell, I tried to mess with it. It’s extremely overclockable if you have solid BIOS and compatible ICs, everything else is fine except for bad BIOS.

How proficient are you in creating a BIOS from the ground up? The BIOS available in Dell and other manufacturers is limited to what is standard. There’s no shortcut to adding features not present.

I believe even a tweaked bios wouldn't allow for overclocking, as the chipset lacks this capability. You might be able to use a bsel tape mod with an 800/1066 fsb CPU, but that's essentially the limit.
